Patch 2142 Origin - ticketsfile23’s diary

Essentially, after I download Battlefield 2142, I click the play button on the EA download manager and it tries to load for about 30 seconds and then an error message comes up telling me that I need to download the EA download manager program, after I am launching it from said program. The same error occurs when I launch the game from my desktop. The EA Download Manager program I currently have it the most updated version. The interesting thing is that I originally had the DVD version of the game and it worked fine on my computer that runs Windows 7 64-bit, but the copy is currently with a friend of mine.

Also, the problem with activating the Northern Strike expansion pack is that it will not allow me to activate it. When I try to activate it the website icon on my desktop from given to me from the install it takes me to and it states underneath the information for Battlefield 3 The page you are trying to access is restricted or unavailable. So, I am unable to activate the expansion due to the information to do so not being there currently. I tried to activate it during the install, but I was unable to without a given reason. It just said it could not install it. This problem could be linked to the activation of the expansion pack during the install.

I had the same thing yesterday evening, I restarted Origin and it suddenly went to check my BF2142 game files and after downloaded a 209mb patch, tried to install but it didn t really do anything and it didn t say in Origin anymore that the game was installed and ready to play.

What I discovered a little bit later is that Origin is checking C: Program Files x86 EA GAMES Battlefield 2142 Deluxe Edition as the installation directory, but this directory is wrong, it is not the location the game got installed to by default, which is: C: Program Files x86 Electronic Arts Battlefield 2142 Deluxe Edition

By moving the files to the directory Origin is trying to check and re starting Origin after that, will show that the game is up-to-date and playable, unless you move it back to the old original directory again.

I hope this solves the confusion.

Can anyone tell me where the update files are for this. I downloaded the game and it says I need to update. I ve Downloaded a 1.50 update from an EA site but it says that I have a newer version installed. I don t get it. There used to be a place where you could download patches from in Origin. Is that gone now.

If you have already updated to 1.5, you need to update to 1.51. You can find it here.
